Donate to Kurruru — Help turn your trash into our treasure

If you would like to show your support for Kurruru, try donating your rubbish. But not just any rubbish, explains Deon Hastie, Kurruru’s Artistic Director.

“Kurruru is embarking on a fundraising drive centred around peoples old mobile phones” says Deon.

“When people upgrade their phones, they can donate their old phones to Kurruru. We can recycle them and earn a deposit. It is good for the environment and good for Kurruru.”

People are encouraged to contact Kurruru to arrange to donate their old phone and recharger.

“When you upgrade to a new phone, think about Kurruru before you throw-out your old handset.”

Being green is the driver for another of Kurruru’s fundraising programs.

“We are encouraging staff and participants to give Kurruru their soft drink bottles and cans so we can recycle them.”

The deposits from recycling this trash will help to support Kurruru’s end of year showcase Yella Kiana , this year at the Waterside Workers Hall, 11 Nile Street, Port Adelaide.

Cash donations to Kurruru are also welcome and are gratefully received. Donations over $2.00 made to Kurruru are tax deductable and contribute to the ongoing work of the Company.
